Berkshire Wind Phase I

For the 2020 operating year, below is the monthly generation data and historical average monthly generation data for the project. As of August 2020, the Berkshire Wind Power Project completed 111 months of operation.

  • Average Capacity Factor for the month of August since COD: 20.23%
  • Capacity Factor since COD: 35.22%

Through the month of August, total production from Berkshire Wind Phase 1 was 2,057 MWh. This was slightly lower than our historical average monthly production of 2,258 MWh. Availability and capacity factors for the project in August were affected by GE’s work onsite performing preventative maintenance on the turbines, as well as performance of biannual gearbox inspections on the phase 1 turbines.

For 2020 operating year, below is the monthly generation data for the project. As of August 2020, the Berkshire Wind Phase 2 project completed 10 months of operation.

  • Availability Factor since COD: 85.80%
  • Capacity Factor since COD: 42.06%

Through the month of August, total production from Berkshire Wind Phase 2 was 850.7 MWh. While historically the months of June-September are the lowest wind producing months of the year, with capacity factors at half the level of high wind months, this only was responsible for 25% of the production declines seen in August. The other factor driving low availability and monthly capacity factor was a prolonged outage on turbine 9 due to a worn brake pad.
