
The Berkshire Wind Power Project is a 12-turbine, 19.6–megawatt wind farm atop Brodie Mountain in Hancock, Massachusetts. The project, which started commercial operation on May 28, 2011, is owned and operated by the Berkshire Wind Power Cooperative Corporation, a non-profit entity that consists of 16 Massachusetts municipal utilities and their joint action agency, the Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC).
To honor its commitment to the Hancock and Lanesborough communities, the Berkshire Wind project established this scholarship in 2022, awarding $1,000 scholarship to two students annually.
Fill out this form to apply for the 2026 Berkshire Wind Power Cooperative Corporation scholarship. The application deadline is Friday, April 3, 2026.
Mount Greylock Regional School and Charles H. McCann Technical School seniors residing in Hancock or Lanesborough, Mass. are eligible to apply if they are planning to attend either a two- or four-year college or trade school program. Special consideration will be given to students with financial need, but all students are encouraged to apply.
